Michael S. Barnes and George P. Wanty III have been friends
and business associates, with a combined 40 years of real
estate development experience, both residential and commercial.
Through their respective development companies and special
purpose entities formed for certain projects, they have collaborated,
co-invested in and/or co-developed numerous projects in the
Park City/Deer Valley, Utah area as well as in western Michigan.
Examples of these include Blackhawk Ranch and Blackhawk Station
in Park City, The Cache at Silver Lake in Deer Valley, and
Cascade Properties and the Trust Building in Grand Rapids,
just to name a few. More recently, they formed BW Developers,
LLC to develop luxury homes and condominiums in Punta Mita,
Mexico.
Michael S. Barnes is a graduate of California State Polytechnic
Institute, Pomona, California with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Astrophysics and Aerospace Engineering. Mr. Barnes has
lived in the Park City, Utah, area where he has been one of
the area’s major real estate developers, with considerable
emphasis on developing luxury home sites and condominiums
in the Deer Valley area.
George P. Wanty, III is a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford,
Connecticut with a Liberal Arts degree in History. He received
his Masters in Business Administration with a major in Finance
from New York University in 1975. In 1991, he founded Tahoe
Development Company and has been active in commercial real
estate investment and development since that time. |

hole #3), eight oceanfront holes, and the world's only natural
island green. This 7,014-yard layout is one of Jack Nicklaus'

DINE, as the developer of Punta Mita, with its commitment
to excellence and with the goal of creating a modern, international
quality resort project with authentic Mexican taste, has chosen
some of the world's most renowned and award winning architects
to design what will be the environment at Punta Mita. The
international firm of Wimberly, Allison, Tong, & Goo, combined
their talents with Diego Villaseņor Arquitectos Asociados,
one of Mexico's premier "coastal" architects, to design the
Four Seasons Resort at Punta Mita.
Master Plan Architect, Edward D. Stone, Jr. and Associates
(EDSA), prepared the original land use plan in order to bring
international design, technology, and amenities to Punta Mita.
A second Master Plan Architect, JP Arquitectos y Planificadores,
refined the original plan to add a uniquely Mexican "flavor"
to the project.
As the project architect for the Las Palmas Villas, Arq.
Humberto Lau Hang Auyon brings his extensive experience and
creativity to creating remarkable homes for Las Palmas. A
graduate of the University of Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico,
Arq. Lau began his career with GVA & Associates, and subsequently
was part of Sidek Group and its affiliate, Estratur, working
as concept creator and consultant for projects throughout
Mexico and Costa Rica. Currently, with more than 28 years
of professional experience he is developing projects in Playa
del Carmen and Chtumal, in the Mayan Riviera, in addition
to his work as project director for Las Palmas de Punta Mita.
His expertise in coastal architecture combines a practical
understanding of the climate and materials with the creative
use of extended spaces. |

Arka, under the direction of Katherine Nidermaier, is a premier Interior Design firm based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Arka is known for its specialty of implementing design projects that meet the highest U.S. standards for quality, integrated with unique Mexican artisan craftsmanship and design details. A graduate of New York's Parsons School of Design, Kathy began her design career in 1980, first in the New York area, and later in San Francisco, prior to moving to Latin America in 1990. She opened Arka, her own design firm, in 1994. With an expertise in designing for hotels and private resort residences, Arka has been responsible for design projects in several notable resorts in Mexico, including the Ritz Carlton Cancun, Palmilla and Cabo del Sol in Cabo San Lucas, and the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. She has also designed interiors for residences in Cabo San Lucas, Careyes, and Punta Mita. Most recently, Kathy was responsible for the design project of the Four Seasons Private Villas in Punta Mita, and designed the interior packages for the Las Palmas Villas. Arka prides itself on its commitment to excellence in all aspects of the design project, combining comfort and aesthetics with the unique features of both the home and its location. |
